Bean Watches: The Marvels (2023)

Hello all and welcome back to another film review! Today's review is of the latest cinematic installment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Marvel's! I hope that this review is as spoiler-free as possible, so let's dive into it! The Marvel's released on the 10th of November 2023 in cinemas for the fans of the MCU to enjoy. The basic plot is that Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau all team up to after their powers cause them to start switching places with everyone each time they use their powers. The cast of the film include Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, as well as Samuel L. Jackson and Zawe Ashton. I thought that the VFX in this film were superb and that the film fit in okay with the universe. In order to understand the plot, you don't need to watch all the MCU things in the run-up. Watching Captain Marvel, Wandavision and Ms. Marvel may help you understand things, but it's entertaining nonetheless. The Good : The film, costumes and so...

Wonka released on the 8th of December (in the UK anyways) in 2023. The film itself is based on Wonka's origin story. How he got his factory, how he invented various chocolate flavours, and of course how he was associated with Oompa Loompas! The film itself has a star studded cast including the likes of Timothy Chamelet as Willy Wonka, Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa, as well as Olivia Coleman, Matthew Baynton, Matt Lucas and Rowan Atkinson.  The Good:  The film itself had an amazing soundtrack with lots of catchy songs (all of which are available to stream on Spotify). I especially loved the little hints of the original Gene Wilder songs that were present in the film's soundtrack. The Bad : I will be honest, I did struggle occasionally to grasp why the film was as long as it w...

Why not review the book I was reading? I am completely new to reviewing books, so bare with me but nonetheless let's dive into it!  So the book itself is called Assassin's Creed Renaissance and it was first published in 2009. According to the book's blurb, the plot of the book is as follows: "Betrayed by the ruling families of Italy, a young man embarks upon an epic quest for vengeance. To eradicate corruption and restore his family's honour, he will learn the art of the assassin. Along the way, Ezio will call upon the wisdom of such great minds as Leonardo da Vinci and Niccolò Machiavelli - knowing that survival is bound to the skills by which he must live. To his allies, he will become a force for change - fighting for freedom and justice. To his enemies, he will become a threat dedicated to ...
