Bean Travels: Look Ma, I Made It To Hollywood (Studios)!

Image
Greetings and Salutations everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous day so far wherever you are! Today we're going to look over and review the third Walt Disney park that opened to the public, Hollywood Studios! So without further ado, let's jump into it! The Introduction Entrance to Hollywood Studios Disney's Hollywood Studios opened to the public on May 1, 1989 as Disney's MGM Studios. The concept of this park was to have a park that you could experience movies being made, as well as riding rides relating to movies. Sound familiar? Yes, there is speculation that Disney "stole" the idea of a movie studio based theme park from Universal Studios. Disney then dropped the MGM from the park's name and changed it to Hollywood Studios as we know of it today. The Rides Stormtroopers from Rise of Resistance The rides at Disney's Hollywood Studios, as I mentioned earlier are more movie-themed rides. But that being said, there are also a lot of non-IP rides, su...

Bean Travels: Epcot, Exploring the World in 80 Minutes!

Image
Greetings and Salutations to everyone! Since my last post, I have finished my lovely two week holiday in Florida and returned to the manky/miserable weather of the UK! Fear not though, as I will be continuing on with my reviews of the theme parks (totally not compensating for not being there). So, let's dive into the review of Epcot! The Introduction The famous Spaceship Earth with the Food & Wine festival advert Epcot (or the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) opened on the 1st of October, 1982, as Walt Disney's idea for a futuristic community where people could work and live. This idea then evolved into the second theme park of the Walt Disney Resort, where the park was separated into two sections, Future World (now World Nature, World Celebration and World Discovery) and World Showcase, which hosts pavilions from various countries, such as France, the United Kingdom and Norway for example.  Epcot has evolved a lot over the years into the park we see today, inc...

Bean Travels: Magic Kingdom, Is It Worth the Hype in 2023?

Image
Greetings and Salutations to you all! Todays blog post will be on everything you’d want to know about Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and whether it is worth the hype! So let’s dive into the Magic Kingdom! The Introduction Magic Kingdom park entrance Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971 as the sister park to the already successful, Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The park has 5 lands that surround the magnificent castle in the centre; Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. I won’t dive too much into the history of the park, but that can be a separate thing if you are all interested (let me know in the comments below!) Cinderella’s Castle aka the iconic Disney World Castle The castle itself is a thing of beauty. A little known fact is that the castle that you see in the image above is actually Cinderella’s Castle! Each of the Disney theme park castles are that of different princesses, so for example Disneyland California has Sleeping Beauty’s ...

Bean Travels: Halloween Horror Nights 32

Image
Bean Travels: Halloween Horror Nights 32 Greetings and Salutations! Today’s blog post is a review of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando! Be warned, there will be some spoilers, but i’ll try to avoid those as best as possible alongside my honest opinion. Without further ado, let’s jump into it! What is Halloween Horror Nights? So if you’ve ever done Fright Nights at Thorpe Park (not that I’ve done them), it’s very similar to that. If you haven’t, this is what I interpreted HHN as. HHN is an experience where horror comes to life. There are various “haunted houses” as Universal call them, that everyone can experience. This year there were ten in total. Not only that but there were also “scare zones” that you could wonder around and interact with the actors.  How this review is going to work, we’re going to treat it as if we were walking through Horror Nights ourselves from the entrance, all the way around the park. I also got some opinions from my best mate, who came...
